阿尔梅里亚大学Manuel Jamilena教授在北大农研院开展英文讲座

4月24日，阿尔梅里亚大学 Manuel Jamilena 教授在北京大学现代农业研究院/潍坊现代农业山东省实验室开展英文讲座，作题为“Genomic and molecmular analysis of flower and fruit development in Cucurbita pepo”的学术报告。  

Research Direction: He is currently working on a research project that uses genomic and biotechnological tools to identify QTLs and genes that regulate nutritional and functional quality traits in zucchini fruit, including carotenoids and cucurbitacins.

Major Achievements: His most notable scientific contributions include studies on the genetic control of reproductive development and sex determination in cucurbit crops, and the use of genomic tools to discover traits and genes associated with fruit quality traits as well as resistance to biotic and abiotic stress in cucurbits. He has been responsible for more than 30 competitive research projects and research contracts with the agri-food industry, has supervised 14 doctoral theses, and has published more than 130 research articles in high-impact journals.

讲座前，副院长张兴平陪同 Manuel Jamilena 教授前往研究院实验基地，现场察看了教授团队提供的抗病毒南瓜材料，围绕材料的田间表现、抗病性评价等内容展开了深入交流 。 

另外，阿尔梅里亚大学是我院在西班牙正式建立的首个博士生联合培养合作院校，Jamilena 教授作为对方大学该联合培养项目的负责人，积极推动双方在科研合作与人才联合培养方面的深度对接。罗晓研究员团队科研助理孙瑜已顺利通过选拔，将于今年晚些时候赴阿尔梅里亚大学开展相关博士阶段的学习与研究工作。
